Web-based GIS Application for International Cooperation Project Management

International Cooperation projects play an important role as support of Integral
Rehabilitation of the Historical Centre of Havana, Cuba. In this work, the
application development process and main characteristics of web-based GIS application
for international cooperation project management are presented. This application
enables the International Cooperation Division to evaluate their results from a
geographic point of view and serves to support the decision-taking process. It also
shows many thematic maps about the benefits generated by the international
cooperation projects. There are two types of users for these applications, namely,
Contributors who can consult the Internet Division’s web page and Specialists in the
Project Management Division, who now have an available tool that will allow them to
improve their job. This work was supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and
Cooperation (SDC)
