TRISTAN is an international scientific conference that provides a high quality forum for the presentation of mathematical models, methodologies and computational results, and for the exchange of ideas and scientific discussions on advanced applications and technologies in transportation.

The five previous conferences took place in Montréal (Canada, 1991), Capri (Italy, 1994), San Juan (Puerto Rico, 1998), San Miguel (Azores Islands, 2001) and Le Gosier (Guadeloupe, 2004). They gathered top research scientists from prestigious universities and research institutes, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Georgia Institute of Technology (USA), University of Arizona (USA), University of California (USA), University of Montréal (Canada), Imperial College (UK), Technical University of Delft (The Netherlands), Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland), University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (France), Technical University of Denmark, among many others. Also, these conferences have included scientific participants from private sectors and public agencies which have enhanced the presentations and discussions during the conferences.
