The poster will describe Catalog for GeoWeb services that is used for internal
purposes of Institute of Geoinformatics (VSB-TU Ostrava). We have built the catalog
to enable coordination in GeoWeb services usage at our institute. Other purpose for
this catalog was our research in the area of GeoWeb services orchestration. We need
some services to test orchestration and choreography. The catalog is developed in PHP
and Java languages. Metadata collected in the catalog are stored in
PostgreSQL/PostGIS database. Metadata about GeoWeb services have usually part that is
georeferenced (better say GeoWeb service is usually connected to some particular
area). That was the reason for PostGIS. We can use SQL for spatial searching of
GeoWeb services. Searching in the catalog is available via web page or via JUMP
Workbench Plugin (SOAP connection). We are planning to use JUMP Workbench as a
platform for building and running GeoWeb services orchestras, but the decision has
not been done yet (uDIG looks promising as well). We would like to connect GeoNetwork
Open Source to our catalog to be able serve metadata according to OGC and ISO standards.
